The owner of Wild Wolf Creative Co., Brittney, creates beautiful designs and produces stationery for all of your wedding needs. Brittney sat down with us for April's blog post to talk all things stationery and wedding trends for 2023. How did you get started in the wedding industry and specifically in designing and producing wedding stationery in Houston?
During the pandemic, I lost my job. I was confused and a little scared of where life was going to take me next. I decided that I should go back to wedding stationery since it's something that I love! I started my business in October of 2020. I first fell in love with wedding stationery design when I was a design and production intern for a local Houston wedding stationery studio. From that moment on, I was mesmerized by the beautiful and intricate designs and knew this was where I needed to be. With over six years of design and printing experience behind me, I'm a paper-loving, color-obsessed designer who loves helping my clients create lasting memories through wedding stationary.
What trends are you seeing for 2023 with wedding invites or stationery?
There are a lot of trends we are seeing this year! A big one is minimalism. Even if couples are having a destination wedding in Mexico, designs with minimal detail, clean fonts and a classic design are perfect for communicating all of the details for their wedding.
I love the look of wax seals on invitations and the ones Wild Wolf Creative Co. offers are beautiful. What does the process look like to create and order these if an engaged couple in Houston or beyond is interested?
For my brides, I offer pre-made wax seals unless they are wanting something completely custom. For example, I did a pampas grass wax seal that was customized to all a bride's details.
What are some of the big do's and don'ts for wedding invitations?
Do's:
Send them out up to eight weeks in advance.
Put a stamp on the RSVP envelope.
Include a link to your wedding website that includes your registry information.
Don'ts:
Don't make any abbreviations.
Don't give too tight of an RSVP deadline. Typically allow 3-4 weeks prior to your date.
Please please please do not use address labels. I can print on your envelopes, and it looks much nicer!
Other than wedding invitations, what are other wedding-related items that a couple might want to have professionally created and printed?
I love to create a look that is cohesive from save-the-dates all the way down to menu cards. A few of the things I offer are rehearsal dinner invitations, menu cards, seating charts, reserved signs, ceremony programs, escort cards and table numbers.
